Oil Level Sensor: Service and Repair

Engine Oil Level Sensor and/or Switch Replacement

Removal Procedure
1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
2. Drain the oil from the oil pan.





3. Disconnect the electrical connector from the oil level sensor.





4. Remove the retainer bolt from the oil pan.
5. Remove the oil level sensor from the oil pan.

Installation Procedure

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.





1. Install the oil level sensor to the oil pan with the retainer bolt.
Tighten the bolt to 10 Nm (7 ft. lbs.).





2. Connect the electrical connector to the oil level sensor.
3. Lower the vehicle.
4. Ensure that the engine oil is filled to the proper level.
