Drive Belt: Service and Repair




Power Steering Pump Belt Replacement (2.5L)

Removal Procedure





1. Remove the coolant reservoir tank bolts.

2. Reposition the tank in order to access the accessory drive belt.





3. Use a wrench to turn the bolt for the tensioner (7) clockwise, compressing the tensioner, and releasing the tension on the serpentine accessory drive belt (1).

4. Remove the serpentine accessory drive belt.

Installation Procedure





1. Use a wrench to turn the bolt for the tensioner (7) clockwise, compressing the tensioner.

2. With the wrench in place on the tensioner bolt, loop the serpentine accessory drive belt (1) loosely over the pulleys for the following components:

* The power steering pump (2)

* The generator (3)

* The idler (4)

* The air conditioning compressor (5)

* The damper (6)

* The tensioner

* The water pump (8)

3. Remove the wrench from the tensioner bolt.

4. Install the coolant reservoir tank bolts.

Tighten the coolant reservoir tank securing bolts to 6 Nm (53 lb in).
