Engine Control Module Replacement

Removal Procedure





Caution:
Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution Battery Disconnect Caution in Cautions and Notices.

1. Remove the battery. Refer to Battery and Battery Tray Replacement Removal and Replacement in Engine Electrical.

2. Remove the engine control module (ECM) bracket nuts.





3. Disconnect the ECM connector.

4. Remove the ECM retaining nuts and the ECM.

Installation Procedure





Notice:
Refer to Fastener Notice Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

1. Install the ECM and the retaining nuts.

Tighten the ECM retaining nuts to 12 Nm (106 lb in).

2. Connect the ECM connector.





3. Tighten the ECM bracket nuts.

Tighten the ECM bracket nuts to 12 Nm (106 lb in).

4. Install the battery. Refer to Battery and Battery Tray Replacement Removal and Replacement in Engine Electrical.

5. Perform the idle learn procedure. Refer to Throttle/Idle Learn Testing and Inspection.
