Liftgate Replacement

Removal Procedure





Caution:
Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution Battery Disconnect Caution in Cautions and Notices.

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

2. Open and suitably support the liftgate.

3. Disconnect lift gate door grommet.

4. Disconnect the electrical connector.

5. Disconnect the liftgate washer hose.

6. Remove the liftgate struts. Refer to Liftgate Strut Replacement Service and Repair.

7. With the aid of an assistant, remove the bolts and the liftgate from the hinges.

Installation Procedure





Notice:
Refer to Fastener Notice Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

1. With the aid of an assistant, install the liftgate to the hinges with the bolts.

Tighten the liftgate bolts to 20 Nm (15 lb ft).

2. Install the liftgate struts. Refer to Liftgate Strut Replacement Service and Repair.

3. Connect the liftgate washer hose.

4. Connect the electrical connector.

5. Connect the liftgate door grommet.

6. Connect the negative battery cable.
