Instrument Panel Inflatable Restraint Module Replacement (2.0L)

Removal Procedure





Caution:
Refer to Sensing and Diagnostic Module Handling Caution Sensing and Diagnostic Module Handling Caution in Cautions and Notices.

Caution:
Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution Battery Disconnect Caution in Cautions and Notices.

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

2. Remove the instrument panel (I/P) storage compartment. Refer to Instrument Panel Storage Compartment Replacement Service and Repair in Instrument Panel, Gauges, and Console.





3. Disconnect the passenger air bag yellow electrical connector.

4. Remove the passenger air bag module by removing the mounting bolts from the air bag bracket.

Installation Procedure





1. Install the passenger air bag module.

Notice:
Refer to Fastener Notice Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

2. Install the passenger air bag mounting bolts.

Tighten the passenger air bag mounting bolts to 11 Nm (97 lb in).

3. Connect the passenger air bag yellow electrical connector.





4. Install the I/P storage compartment. Refer to Instrument Panel Storage Compartment Replacement Service and Repair in Instrument Panel, Gauges, and Console.

5. Connect the negative battery cable.
