Transmission Control Module Replacement

Removal Procedure





Caution:
Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution Battery Disconnect Caution in Cautions and Notices.

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

2. Disconnect the transmission control module (TCM) electrical connector.





3. Remove the TCM retaining bolts.

4. Remove the TCM.

Installation Procedure

Important:
After replacing the TCM, refer to Service Programming System (SPS) Programming and Relearning to ensure the module has the latest calibrations.






1. Connect the negative battery cable.

Notice:
Refer to Fastener Notice Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

2. Install the TCM and retaining bolts.

Tighten the TCM retaining bolts to 5 Nm (44 lb in).





3. Connect the TCM electrical connector.

4. Connect the negative battery cable.
