Front Axle Shaft Seal Replacement

Tools Required

DT 46470 (DW260-030) Differential Oil Seal Installer

Removal Procedure





Caution:
Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution Battery Disconnect Caution in Cautions and Notices.

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

2. Remove the drive axles. Refer to Front Drive Axle Inner Shaft Replacement (Manual) Front Drive Axle Inner Shaft Replacement (Manual)Front Drive Axle Inner Shaft Replacement (Automatic) Front Drive Axle Inner Shaft Replacement (Automatic) in Front Drive Axle.

Important:
Do NOT damage the bore of the transaxle case.


3. Remove the transaxle drive seal using a flat-bladed tool. If necessary, crush the seal first in order to loosen the seal from the case.

Installation Procedure





1. Use DT 46470 (1) to install the transaxle drive seal.

2. Install the drive axles. Refer to Front Drive Axle Inner Shaft Replacement (Manual) Front Drive Axle Inner Shaft Replacement (Manual)Front Drive Axle Inner Shaft Replacement (Automatic) Front Drive Axle Inner Shaft Replacement (Automatic) in Front Drive Axle.

3. Connect the negative battery cable.
