Automatic Transmission Fluid Pan and Gasket Removal

Tools Required

DT 46475 (DW260-070) Auto Transaxle Oil Plug Remover/Installer





Caution:
Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution Battery Disconnect Caution in Cautions and Notices.

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

2. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle Service and Repair in General Information.

3. Remove the engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement in Frame and Underbody.

4. Place a fluid container beneath the fluid drain plug.

5. Use DT 46475 (1) to remove the transaxle fluid drain plug. Drain the transaxle fluid.





6. Remove the oil cooler inlet and outlet pipes. Refer to Transmission Fluid Cooler Hose/Pipe Replacement ZF 4HP 16 - Automatic Transmission.





7. Remove the oil pan, the oil pan bolts, and the oil pan gasket.
