Transmission Fluid Replacement

Draining Procedure





1. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
2. Clear the dirt and debris from the transmission fill and drain plugs.
3. Remove the drain plug from the transmission.
4. Drain the transmission.

Filling Procedure





Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

1. Install the drain plug.
^ Tighten the drain plug to 18 Nm (13 ft. lbs.).





2. Remove the fill plug.
3. Fill the transmission with Dextron-III transmission fluid, until the fluid is even with the bottom of the fill plug hole.
4. Install the fill plug.
^ Tighten the fill plug to 18 Nm (13 ft. lbs.).
5. Lower the vehicle.
