Cylinder Head Assembly

Cylinder Head - Left





The long bolts are used in locations 1, 2, 3, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 14, 16, and 17. The medium length bolts are used in locations 15 and 18. The short bolts are used in locations 4, 5, 12, and 13.

Tighten the cylinder head bolts. (Use NEW Bolts)
Tighten the bolts a first pass in sequence 30 Nm (22 ft. lbs.)
Tighten the bolts a second pass in sequence 30 Nm (22 ft. lbs.) then an additional 120 degrees using J45059.
Tighten the bolts (1, 2, 3, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 14, 16, 17) an additional 60 degrees, bolts (15, and 18) an additional 45 degrees, and bolts (4, 5, 12, and 13) an additional 30 degrees a final pass in sequence using J45059.

Cylinder Head - Right





The long bolts are used in locations 1, 2, 3, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 14, 16, and 17. The medium length bolts are used in locations 15 and 18. The short bolts are used in locations 4, 5, 12, and 13.

Tighten the cylinder head bolts. (Use NEW Bolts)
Tighten the cylinder head bolts a first pass in sequence 30 Nm (22 ft. lbs.)
Tighten the cylinder head bolts a second pass in sequence 30 Nm (22 ft. lbs.) then an additional 120 degrees using J45059.
Tighten the bolts (1, 2, 3, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 14, 16, and 17) an additional 60 degrees, bolts (15, and 18) an additional 45 degrees, and bolts (4, 5, 12, and 13) an additional 30 degrees a final pass using J45059.

Cylinder Head Height/Thickness 259.875 - 260.125 mm (10.231 - 10.241 inch)
Surface Flatness - Block Deck 0.05 mm (0.002 inch)
Surface Flatness - Exhaust Manifold Deck 0.102 mm (0.004 inch)
Surface Flatness - Intake Manifold Deck 0.08 mm (0.003 inch)

Intake Manifold





Tighten the intake manifold bolts in the sequence shown, using four passes.
Tighten the bolts a first pass 5 Nm (44 inch lbs.)
Tighten the bolts a second pass 8 Nm (71 inch lbs.)
Tighten the bolts a third pass 12 Nm (106 inch lbs.)
Tighten the bolts a final pass 15 Nm (11 ft. lbs.)

Exhaust Manifold

Tighten the bolt 35 Nm (26 ft. lbs.)
Tighten the nuts 16 Nm (12 ft. lbs.)
