Coolant Heater Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Draining and Filling Cooling System (2.0L) Service and RepairDraining and Filling Cooling System (2.5L) Service and Repair.
2. Disconnect the coolant heater power supply cord from the coolant heater.





Important: A residual amount of coolant will drain from the engine block.


3. Remove the coolant heater and seal from the engine block.

Installation Procedure




1. Install the seal to the coolant heater.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

2. Install the coolant heater into the engine block.

Tighten the coolant heater to 60 Nm (44 lb ft).

3. Connect the coolant heater power supply cord to the coolant heater.
4. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Draining and Filling Cooling System (2.0L) Service and RepairDraining and Filling Cooling System (2.5L) Service and Repair.
