Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement

Removal Procedure




1. Disconnect the electrical connector from the mass air flow (MAF)/intake air temperature (IAT) sensor.




2. Disconnect the secondary air injection (AIR) pump inlet hose quick connect fitting from the air cleaner assembly.




3. Loosen the clamp and disconnect the air cleaner outlet duct from the air cleaner assembly.
4. Remove the 2 bolts (3) and nut (5) securing the air cleaner assembly to the wheel house (4).
5. Remove the air cleaner assembly from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure




1. Position the air cleaner assembly into the engine compartment, inserting the snorkel (2) into the fender (1).

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice.

2. Install the 2 bolts (3) and nut (5) securing the air cleaner assembly to the wheel house (4).

* Tighten the bolts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).
* Tighten the nut to 15 N.m (11 lb ft).

3. Connect the air cleaner outlet duct to the air cleaner assembly.

Tighten the clamp to 6 N.m (53 lb in).




4. Connect the AIR pump inlet hose quick connect fitting to the air cleaner assembly.




5. Connect the engine wiring harness electrical connector to the MAF/IAT sensor.
