Electronic Power Steering Motor Control Module Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the driver knee bolster reinforcement. Refer to Driver Knee Bolster Reinforcement Replacement (Service and Repair) .
2. Position the steering column in the most upwards position possible.
3. Disconnect the electronic power steering motor control module electrical connectors.




4. Remove the electronic power steering motor control module bracket bolts (1).
5. Remove the electronic power steering motor control module and bracket together from the vehicle.




6. Remove the electronic power steering motor control module bolts (1).
7. Separate the electronic power steering motor control module and bracket (2).



Installation Procedure





1. Position the electronic power steering motor control module and bracket (2) together.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice (Fastener Notice) .

2. Install the electronic power steering motor control module bolts (1).

Tighten the bolts to 11.5 N.m (102 lb in).





3. Install the electronic power steering motor control module and bracket to the vehicle.
4. Install the electronic power steering motor control module bracket bolts (1).

Tighten the bolts to 11 5N.m (102 lb in).

5. Connect the electronic power steering motor control module electrical connectors.
6. Install the driver knee bolster reinforcement. Refer to Driver Knee Bolster Reinforcement Replacement (Service and Repair) .
