Battery Replacement



Battery Replacement (LAT)

Removal Procedure

Caution: Do not tip the battery over a 45 degree angle or acid could spill causing serious personal injury.




1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Disengage the two side retaining tabs on the positive battery cable cover (1), and open the cover.
3. Loosen the positive battery cable nut (2).
4. Remove the positive battery cable (3) from the battery.
5. Reposition the positive battery cable out of the way.




6. Remove the battery hold down retainer bolt (1) and retainer (2).
7. Remove the battery (3) from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

Caution: Do not tip the battery over a 45 degree angle or acid could spill causing serious personal injury.




1. Install the battery (3) to the vehicle.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice.

2. Install the battery hold down retainer (2) and bolt (1).

Tighten the bolt to 15 N.m (11 lb ft).




3. Position the positive battery cable to the battery.
4. Install the positive battery cable (3) to the battery.
5. Tighten the positive battery cable nut (2).

Tighten the nut to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

6. Close the positive battery cable cover (1).
7. Connect the negative battery cable.
