Cylinder Head Replacement - Right



Cylinder Head Replacement - Right Side (6.0L)

Removal Procedure





1. Remove the oil level indicator. Refer to Oil Level Indicator and Tube Replacement (Service and Repair) .
2. Remove the coolant air bleed pipe. Refer to Coolant Air Bleed Pipe Assembly Replacement (Service and Repair) .
3. Remove the right exhaust manifold. Refer to Exhaust Manifold Replacement - Right Side (LH6/LS2) (Exhaust Manifold Replacement - Right Side) .
4. Remove the pushrods. Refer to Valve Rocker Arm and Push Rod Replacement (Service and Repair) .
5. If equipped, remove the auxiliary air conditioning (A/C) bracket nut (2).
6. Remove the cylinder head. Refer to Cylinder Head Removal - Right Side (Overhaul) .
7. Clean and inspect the cylinder head. Refer to Cylinder Head Cleaning and Inspection (Overhaul) .



Installation Procedure

1. Install the cylinder head. Refer to Cylinder Head Installation - Right Side (Overhaul) .





Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice .

2. If equipped, install the auxiliary air conditioning (A/C) bracket nut (2).

Tighten the nut to 20 N.m (15 lb ft).

3. Install the pushrods. Refer to Valve Rocker Arm and Push Rod Replacement (Service and Repair) .
4. Install the right exhaust manifold. Refer to Exhaust Manifold Replacement - Right Side (LH6/LS2) (Exhaust Manifold Replacement - Right Side) .
5. Install the coolant air bleed pipe. Refer to Coolant Air Bleed Pipe Assembly Replacement (Service and Repair) .
6. Install the oil level indicator. Refer to Oil Level Indicator and Tube Replacement (Service and Repair) .
