Exhaust Pipe Heat Shield Replacement

Exhaust Pipe Heat Shield Replacement (LH6/LS2) (5.3L and 6.0L)

Removal Procedure





1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
2. Remove the exhaust pipe heat shield retainer (1).
3. Remove the exhaust pipe heat shield bolt (2).
4. Remove the exhaust pipe heat shield (3) from the frame.



Installation Procedure





1. Install the exhaust pipe heat shield (3) to the frame.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice .

2. Install the exhaust pipe heat shield bolt (2).

Tighten the bolt to 7 N.m (62 lb in).

3. Install the exhaust pipe heat shield retainer (1).
4. Lower the vehicle.
