Rear Suspension
Rear Wheel Bearing and Hub Replacement (Without Independent Suspension)
Removal Procedure
1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (Service and Repair).
2. Remove the tire and wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (Service and Repair).
3. Remove the brake caliper. Refer to Rear Brake Caliper Replacement (Rear Brake Caliper Replacement).
4. Remove and DISCARD the wheel bearing/hub bolts.
5. Remove the wheel bearing/hub.
6. Disconnect the wheel speed sensor electrical connector.
Installation Procedure
1. Connect the wheel speed sensor electrical connector.
2. Install the wheel bearing/hub.
Caution: These fasteners MUST be replaced with new fasteners anytime they become loose or are removed. Failure to replace these fasteners after they become loose or are removed may cause loss of vehicle control and personal injury.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice (Fastener Notice).
3. Install the NEW wheel bearing/hub bolts.
Tighten the NEW wheel bearing/hub bolts to 80 N.m (59 lb ft).
4. Install the brake caliper. Refer to Rear Brake Caliper Replacement (Rear Brake Caliper Replacement).
5. Install the tire and wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (Service and Repair).
6. Lower the vehicle.
