Variable Induction Control Valve: Service and Repair




Intake Manifold Tuning Valve Replacement

Removal Procedure




1. Remove the intake manifold cover. Refer to Intake Manifold Cover Replacement Intake Manifold Cover Replacement.
2. Disconnect the engine harness electrical connector (1) from the intake manifold tuning valve.
3. Remove the power steering pump. Refer to Power Steering Pump Replacement Power Steering Pump Replacement.




4. Remove the intake manifold tuning valve bolts.
5. Remove the intake manifold tuning valve.

Installation Procedure




1. Apply lubricate GM P/N 1051344 (Canadian P/N 993037) to the nose of the valve blade (1).




2. Install the intake manifold tuning valve.

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution Fastener Caution.

3. Install the intake manifold tuning valve bolts and tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb in).
4. Install the power steering pump. Refer to Power Steering Pump Replacement Power Steering Pump Replacement.




5. Connect the engine harness electrical connector (1) to the intake manifold tuning valve.
6. Install the intake manifold cover. Refer to Intake Manifold Cover Replacement Intake Manifold Cover Replacement.
