Automatic Transmission Fluid and Filter Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Drain the transaxle fluid from the transaxle. Refer to Transmission Fluid Draining (10. Transmission Fluid Draining)




2. Remove the 18 oil pan retaining bolts, then remove the oil pan and gasket.




3. Remove the bolts and oil strainer.




4. Remove the gasket from the oil strainer.

Installation Procedure




1. Install a new gasket to the oil strainer.




2. Install the oil strainer to the valve body.
3. Install the oil strainer bolts and tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb in).




4. Install a new gasket on the oil pan, then install the oil pan to the transaxle with the 18 retaining bolts. Tighten the bolts to 7.5 Nm (65 lb in).
5. Fill the transaxle with transmission fluid. Refer to Transmission Fluid Draining (10. Transmission Fluid Draining).
