Power Steering Return Hose Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Siphon the power steering fluid from the reservoir.




2. Disconnect the suction hose from the power steering pump.
3. Disconnect the suction hose from the reservoir.




4. If necessary, reposition the radiator to gain access to the suction pipe retaining clamp nuts (1, 2). Refer to Radiator Replacement (1.2L DOHC) (Service and Repair)Radiator Replacement (1.4L/1.5L/1.6L) (Service and Repair).
5. Remove the suction pipe retaining clamp nuts (1, 2) under the radiator.
6. Remove the suction hose from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure




1. Connect the suction hose to the reservoir.
2. Connect the suction hose to the power steering pump.





Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).

3. Install the suction pipe retaining clamp nuts (1, 2). Tighten the nuts to 8 Nm (70 lb in).
4. If necessary, install the radiator. Refer to Radiator Replacement (1.2L DOHC) (Service and Repair)Radiator Replacement (1.4L/1.5L/1.6L) (Service and Repair).
5. Fill the power steering fluid reservoir and bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding (Service and Repair).
