Air Conditioning Compressor and Condenser Hose Replacement (1.8L LUW)

Removal Procedure

1. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging (Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging).
2. Remove front bumper fascia. Refer to Front Bumper Fascia Replacement (Front Bumper Fascia Replacement).




3. Remove air conditioning compressor and condenser hose nut (1) from air conditioning condenser (2).




4. Remove air conditioning compressor and condenser hose bolt (1) from air conditioning compressor (2).




5. Remove air conditioning compressor and condenser hose nut (1) from air conditioning evaporator hose (2).
6. Remove air conditioning compressor and condenser hose.
7. Remove and DISCARD 4 air conditioning compressor and condenser hose seals.

Installation Procedure

1. Install 4 NEW air conditioning compressor and condenser hose seals. Refer to Air Conditioning System Seal Replacement (Air Conditioning System Seal Replacement).
2. Install air conditioning compressor and condenser hose.





Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).

3. Install air conditioning compressor and condenser hose nut (1) to air conditioning evaporator hose (2). Tighten nut to 19 Nm (14 lb ft).




4. Install air conditioning compressor and condenser hose bolt (1) to air conditioning compressor (2). Tighten bolt to 19 Nm (14 lb ft).




5. Install air conditioning compressor and condenser hose nut (1) to air conditioning condenser (2). Tighten nut to 19 Nm (14 lb ft).
6. Install front bumper fascia. Refer to Front Bumper Fascia Replacement (Front Bumper Fascia Replacement).
7. Evacuate and charge the refrigerant system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging (Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging).
