Transmission Rear Cover Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the left front wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (Service and Repair).




2. Remove the rear cover bolts.
3. Remove the rear cover.
4. Inspect the oil guide for damage and replace as necessary.

Installation Procedure




1. Install sealant to the rear cover. For the sealant part number, refer to Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers (Fluid Type Specifications).





Note: The oil guide only installs in one direction. Ensure the oil guide is completely seated in the gear shafts.

2. Install the oil guide.

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).

3. Install the rear cover.

Tighten the rear cover bolts to 25 Nm (18 lb ft).

4. Install the left front wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (Service and Repair).
