Rear Brake Backing Plate Replacement

Removal Procedure

Warning:
Refer to Brake Dust Warning Brake Dust Warning.






1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle Service and Repair.

2. Remove the rear tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation Service and Repair.

3. Remove the upper rear brake backing plate bolt (3) and the rear knuckle bolts (4). Refer to Rear Wheel Bearing and Hub Replacement Rear Suspension.

4. Remove the rear brake backing plate (2) from the rear suspension knuckle (1).

Installation Procedure





1. Install the rear brake backing plate (2) to the rear suspension knuckle (1).

2. Install the upper rear brake backing plate bolt (3) and the rear knuckle bolts (4). Refer to Rear Wheel Bearing and Hub Replacement Rear Suspension.

3. Install the rear tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation Service and Repair.
