LubricateDoors
Lubricate body components. Lubricate all key lock cylinders, hood latch assembly, secondary latch, pivots, spring anchor, release pawl, rear compartment hinges, outer liftgate handle pivot points. More frequent lubrication may be required when exposed to a corrosive environment. Applying silicone grease on Lubricate body hinges and latches, key lock cylinders, hood latch assemblies, secondary latches, pivots, spring anchor and release pawl, hood and door hinges, rear folding seats, and liftgate hinges. More frequent lubrication may be required when the vehicle is exposed to a corrosive environment. Applying silicone grease on weatherstrips with a clean cloth makes them last longer, seal better, and not stick or squeak.
Check
Spare Tire Carrier
Check spare wheel retainer. If loose, tighten with a torque wrench to 4.5 +/- 0.5 Nm.
Shift Interlock, A/T
Automatic Transmission Shift Lock Control Function Check. Refer to Routine Service / Vehicle Checks.
Parking Brake System
Park Brake and P (Park) Mechanism Check. Refer to Routine Service / Vehicle Checks.
Neutral Safety Switch
Starter Switch Check. Refer to Routine Service / Vehicle Checks.
Ignition Lock
Ignition Transmission Lock Check. Refer to Routine Service / Vehicle Checks.
Inspect
Wiper Blade
Inspect wiper blades for wear, cracking, or contamination. Clean the windshield and wiper blades, if contaminated. Replace wiper blades that are worn or damaged.
Washer Fluid
Inspect windshield washer fluid level and add fluid as needed.
Steering and Suspension
Visually inspect front and rear suspension and steering system for damaged, loose, or missing parts, signs of wear.
Restraints and Safety Systems
Inspect restraint system components. Make sure the safety belt reminder light and all your belts, buckles, latch plates, retractors and anchorages are working properly. Look for any other loose or damaged safety belt system parts. If you see anything that might keep a safety belt system from doing its job, have it repaired. Have any torn or frayed safety belts replaced. Also look for any opened or broken air bag coverings, and have them repaired or replaced. The air bag system does not need regular maintenance.
Hood Shock / Support
Visually inspect gas strut for signs of wear, cracks, or other damage. Check the hold open ability of the strut.
Fuel Supply Line
Inspect fuel system for damage or leaks.
Fluids
Fluids visual leak check (or every 12 months, whichever occurs first). A leak in any system must be repaired and the fluid level checked.
Exhaust System
Inspect exhaust system and nearby heat shields for loose or damaged components.
Drive Belt
Inspect accessory drive belt. Visually inspect belt for fraying, excessive cracks, or obvious damage (or every 10 years whichever occurs first). Replace belt if necessary.
Coolant
Inspect engine coolant level. Add coolant if necessary.
Brakes and Traction Control
Inspect Brake System (or every 12 months whicherer occurs first). Visually inspect brake lines and hoses for proper hook-up, binding, leaks, cracks, chafing, etc. Inspect disc brake pads for wear and rotors for surface condition. Inspect other brake parts, including calipers, parking brake, etc.
Air Filter Element
Inspect engine air cleaner filter. If necessary, replace filter.
Accelerator Pedal
Check accelerator pedal for damage, high effort, or binding. Replace if needed.
Replace
Oil Filter, Engine
Engine Oil
Change engine oil and filter, or every 12 months whichever occurs first. Reset the oil life system.
Cabin Air Filter / Purifier
Replace passenger compartment air filter (or every 24 months whichever occurs first). More frequent replacement may be needed if you drive in areas with heavy traffic, areas with poor air quality, or areas with high dust levels. Replacement may also be needed if you notice reduced air flow, windows fogging up, or odors.
Rotate
Tires
Rotate tires, inspect tire wear, and inflation pressure.
Flush
Cooling System
Engine cooling system service (or every 5 years, whichever occurs first). Drain, flush, and refill cooling system.
