Power Steering Gear Inlet Pipe/Hose Replacement




Power Steering Gear Inlet Pipe/Hose Replacement (LS9)

Removal Procedure

1. Place drain pans under the vehicle as necessary.





2. Disconnect the power steering gear inlet hose (1) from the power steering pump.





3. Disconnect the power steering gear inlet hose (1) from the steering gear.

4. Maneuver the power steering gear inlet hose as necessary in order to remove the hose from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

1. Maneuver the power steering gear inlet hose as necessary in order to position the hose in the vehicle.





Note:
Hand start the power steering gear inlet hose fittings before finalizing any torques.

2. Connect the power steering gear inlet hose (1) to the steering gear and tighten to 34 Nm (25 lb ft).





3. Connect the power steering gear inlet hose (1) to the power steering pump and tighten to 34 Nm (25 lb ft).

4. Clean any excess power steering fluid from the vehicle.

5. Remove the drain pans.

6. Fill and bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding Service and Repair.
