Evaporative Emissions Hose: Service and Repair




Evaporative Emission Canister Purge Pipe Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Install the engine support fixture. Refer to Engine Support Fixture Engine Support Fixture.

2. Relieve the fuel system pressure. Refer to Fuel Pressure Relief (Without CH 48027) Fuel Pressure Relief (Without CH 48027)Fuel Pressure Relief (CH 48027) Fuel Pressure Relief (CH-48027)




3. Disconnect the evaporative emission pipe from the evaporative emission canister vent front pipe (3). Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service Service and Repair

4. Disconnect the evaporative emission pipe (1) from the retainers (2).

5. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle Service and Repair.

6. Lower the frame. Refer to Frame Replacement Service and Repair

7. Remove the fuel feed rear pipe. Refer to Fuel Feed Rear Pipe Replacement Fuel Feed Rear Pipe Replacement

8. Remove the evaporative emission pipe rear frame retaining bracket bolt.

9. Remove the evaporative emission pipe middle frame retaining bracket bolt.

10. Remove the evaporative emission pipe middle frame retaining press in pin.

11. Remove the evaporative emission pipe front retaining bracket bolt.




12. Remove the evaporative emission pipe (1) from the evaporative emission purge pipe (2) that goes to the EVAP canister.




13. Disconnect the evaporative emission pipe (1) from the retainers (2). Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service Service and Repair

14. Remove the evaporative emission pipe from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure




1. Install the evaporative emission pipe to the vehicle

2. Connect the evaporative emission pipe (1) from the retainers (2). Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service Service and Repair.




3. Install the evaporative emission pipe (1) to the evaporative emission purge pipe (2) that goes to the EVAP canister.

4. Install the evaporative emission pipe front retaining bracket bolt.

5. Install the evaporative emission pipe middle frame retaining press in pin.

6. Install the evaporative emission pipe middle frame retaining bracket bolt.

7. Install the evaporative emission pipe rear frame retaining bracket bolt.

8. Install the fuel feed rear pipe. Refer to Fuel Feed Rear Pipe Replacement Fuel Feed Rear Pipe Replacement

9. Raise the frame. Refer to Frame Replacement Service and Repair

10. Lower the vehicle.




11. Connect the evaporative emission pipe to the evaporative emission canister vent front pipe (3). Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service Service and Repair

12. Connect the evaporative emission pipe (1) from the retainers (2). Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service Service and Repair.
