Valve Lifter Installation - Right Side





Note:
Do not stroke/cycle the stationary hydraulic lash adjuster plunger without oil in the lower pressure chamber.

Note:
Do not allow the stationary hydraulic lash adjuster to tip over, plunger down, after the oil fill.

1. Fill the stationary hydraulic lash adjuster (SHLA) with clean engine oil. Refer to Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers for recommended engine oil. Take precautions to prevent scratching the pivot sphere area (1) of the SHLA.

2. Lubricate the SHLA bores in the cylinder head with clean engine oil. Refer to Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers for recommended lubricant.





3. Install the SHLAs in the cylinder head.

4. Apply a liberal amount of lubricant to the SHLA pivot spheres. Refer to Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers for recommended lubricant.
