Power Steering Gear Outlet Pipe/Hose Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Place drain pans under the vehicle.

2. Remove as much power steering fluid from the reservoir as possible.

3. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle Service and Repair.





Caution:
Refer to Power Steering Hose Disconnected Caution Service Precautions.

4. Disconnect the power steering gear outlet hose from the power steering pump.

5. Disconnect the power steering gear outlet hose from the power steering gear.

6. Remove the power steering gear outlet hose from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure





Caution:
Refer to Installing Hoses without Twists or Bends Caution Installing Hoses without Twists or Bends Caution.

1. Position the power steering gear outlet hose in the vehicle.

Caution:
Refer to Fastener Caution Fastener Caution.

2. Connect the power steering gear outlet hose to the power steering gear and tighten to 34 Nm (25 lb ft).

3. Connect the power steering gear outlet hose to the power steering pump.

4. Lower the vehicle.

5. Fill and bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding Service and Repair.

6. Clean any excess power steering fluid from the vehicle.

7. Remove the drain pans from under the vehicle.
