Fuel Pump Pickup Filter: Service and Repair




Fuel Strainer Bowl Replacement

Removal Procedure




1. Remove the diesel fuel strainer bowl (1).

2. Remove the fuel pump (2) pre-filter and o-rings.

Installation Procedure




1. Clean the strainer bowl (1) sealing surface, the pre-filter and o-rings. Inspect for damage and replace if necessary.

2. Install the fuel pump (2) pre-filter and o-rings.

3. Install the diesel strainer bowl.

4. Prime the fuel system. Refer to Fuel System Priming Fuel System Priming.

5. Start the engine. If the engine stalls, repeat the above step.

6. Once the engine starts, inspect for fuel leaks.
