Removal


1. Discharge A/C system and remove compressor from vehicle. Drain, measure, and discard oil.
2. Refer to appropriate procedure, and remove clutch drive and hub assembly, pulley rotor and bearing assembly, and clutch coil.
3. Mark and note alignment of rear head, compressor center, and front head for reassembly. Front head may be mounted in 3 possible positions.
4. Remove 6 compressor through bolts and gaskets. Discard gaskets.
5. Disengage head from compressor center by using plastic headed hammer and wooden block and tapping around edge of rear head.
6. Separate rear head, head gasket, rear valve plate, suction reed plate, and cylinder to rear head O-ring. Discard head gasket and O-ring.
7. Inspect rear valve plate, suction reed plate, and visible portion of compressor cylinder and service as necessary.
