Upper

1. Raise front of vehicle and support lower control arms. Jacks must remain under control arm spring seat during removal and installation to retain spring and control arm position.
2. Remove wheel and tire assembly.
3. Disconnect battery ground cable.
4. Remove air cleaner extension, if necessary.
5. Remove brake hose.
6. Remove upper ball joint as described previously.
7. Remove upper ball joint from steering knuckle. Remove upper control arm attaching bolts and nuts. Note location of shims, if used.
8. Remove upper control arm and bushings. The bushings on C1500 and 2500 models are welded in position and are not serviceable.
9. Reverse procedure to install. Tighten attaching nuts to specification.
