Symptoms - Manual Transmission

Strategy Based Diagnostics

Review the system operations in order to familiarize yourself with the system functions. Refer to Transmission System Description and Operation.

Visual/Physical Inspection

* Inspect the easily accessible or visible system components for obvious damage or conditions which could cause the symptom.
* Inspect the manual transaxle for the correct fluid level.
* Inspect the manual transaxle for fluid leaks.
* Inspect the manual transaxle for broken or loose transaxle mounts.

Intermittent

Test the vehicle under the same conditions that the customer reported in order to verify the system is operating properly.

Refer to a symptom diagnostic procedure from the following list in order to diagnose the symptom:

* Transmission Shifts Hard
* Transmission Gear Clash When Shifting Gears
* Transmission Noisy
* Transmission Does Not Shift into One Gear
* Transmission Jumps Out of Gear
* Transmission Locked in One Gear
* Transmission Clunk on Acceleration or Deceleration
