Instrument Panel - Installation
INSTALLATION
NOTE: Left hand drive shown. Right hand drive similar.
1. With the help of an assistant, carefully install the instrument panel into the vehicle.
2. Install the two bolts (4) and one nut (3) that secure the instrument panel support (2) to the driver side of the cowl panel. Tighten the bolts and nut to 27 Nm (20 ft. lbs.).
3. Install the four bolts (2) that secure the top of the instrument panel to the dash panel. Tighten the bolts to 8 Nm (70 in. lbs.).
4. Install the Instrument panel top cover Instrument Panel Cover - Installation.
5. Reach through the steering column opening and install the two bolts (3) that secure the instrument panel support bracket (2) to the driver side of the dash panel (1). Tighten the bolts to 27 Nm (20 ft. lbs.).
6. Install the end cap onto the driver side of the instrument panel Instrument Panel End Cap - Installation.
7. Connect the passenger side wire connectors:
a. Radio coax (5)
b. Recirculation door actuator (1)
c. Blower motor (2)
d. Passenger side door harness (6)
8. Install the passenger side cowl trim panel Cowl Trim - Installation.
9. Install the passenger side instrument panel silencer Silencer Panel - Installation.
10. Install the glove box bin Instrument Panel Glove Box - Installation.
11. Install the passenger side A-pillar trim panel A-Pillar Trim Panel-Installation.
12. Install the two bolts (3) that secure the center of the instrument panel support (1) to the passenger side of the floor bracket (3) located below the center of the instrument panel (2). Tighten the bolts to 6 Nm (55 in. lbs.).
13. Reposition the carpet and install the push-pin retainer that secures the carpet to the passenger side of the floor bracket.
14. Connect the driver side wiring connectors:
a. Data link connector (DLC) (5)
b. Two main instrument panel connectors (3)
c. Driver side body harness (4)
d. Driver side door harness (1)
15. Install the driver side cowl trim panel Cowl Trim - Installation.
16. Install the steering column Steering Column - Installation.
17. Install the driver side A-pillar trim panel A-Pillar Trim Panel-Installation.
18. Position the wire lead (8) of the instrument panel wire harness to the center of the floor panel and connect the wiring connectors and ground to the airbag controller (5) and gearshift assembly (3), as required.
19. Install the right floor distribution duct (1) Floor Ducts - Installation.
20. Install the floor center console Center Console - Installation.
21. Install the instrument panel center bezel Instrument Panel Center Bezel - Installation.
22. Reconnect the negative battery cable.
