Carburetor Switch Test

Dual Connector:

NOTE: On most models, grounding the carburetor switch eliminates all spark advance.

1. Turn ignition switch Off, then disconnect 10 way connector from computer.
2. Check to insure throttle is fully closed, then check continuity between pin 7 of harness connector and ground using suitable ohmmeter, see figure.
3. If continuity is not present, check for open circuit in carburetor switch wiring circuit and repair as necessary.
4. Open throttle and check continuity between pin 7 of harness connector and ground. Continuity should not be present.
