Timing Belt: Adjustments

Cam Belt Routing:






1. Remove spark plugs and rotate crank to TDC position.
2. Mount belt tension tool (C-4703) or equivalent horizontally on large hex of timing belt tensioner pulley and loosen tensioner lock nut.
3. Index belt tension tool (C-4703) or equivalent, to within 15° of the horizontal axis. See fig. 21.
4. Turn engine clockwise from TDC two complete crankshaft revolutions then back to TDC.

NOTE: Do not reverse rotate crankshaft or attempt to rotate engine using cam or accessory shaft attaching bolts.

5. Tighten lock nut on tensioner while holding factory tool (C-4703) in position.
