Basic Timing Advance Test

1. Connect a suitable tachometer and adjustable timing light to engine.
2. Connect a jumper wire from carburetor switch to ground.
3. Set parking brake and start vehicle, then using the timing light adjustment feature, adjust timing light so specified timing mark is lined up with pointer.
4. The adjustable timing light meter should show amount of advance as shown in "Electronic Spark Control Specification Chart."
