The currently specified oil filter for 2.2L engines is the "teacup" oil filter, PN 4105409. This bulletin is being issued to advise you that the

"shorty" oil filter, PN 3549957 (or equivalent), is also approved as a service replacement filter on all 2.2L engines.


This will give our customers a wider selection of replacement oil filters for their 2.2L engines.


The oil fill capacity remains the same regardless of which filter is installed at the time of oil change.


The "teacup" oil filter will continue to be installed in production on

2.2L engines.
