Brake Fluid: Service and Repair

The hydraulic assembly is equipped with a plastic fluid reservoir and a filter/strainer located in the filler neck of each reservoir section. The ABS system requires that the hydraulic accumulator be de-pressurized when checking fluid level.

1. De-pressurize the system as outlined in "De-Pressurizing Hydraulic Accumulator" under "Precautions."
2. Thoroughly clean both reservoir caps and surrounding area before cape removal.
3. Ensure fluid level is at but not above the white screen on filter/strainer.
4. Replace reservoir caps.
