Idle Speed/Throttle Actuator - Electronic: Service and Repair

REMOVAL

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Disconnect the Idle Air Control (IAC) motor wiring connector.
3. Remove mounting screws (2), and remove the motor from the throttle body, (be sure the O-ring is still on the motor).

INSTALLATION

NOTE: If pintle measures more than 1 inch (25 mm), it must be retracted by using the "IAC motor open/close" test through the use of a scan tool. (Battery must be connected for this procedure.)

Idle Air Control (IAC) Motor Installation:





1. Install motor with new O-ring.
2. Tighten mounting screws to 17 in-lbs (2 Nm).
3. Connect electrical connector.
4. Connect negative battery cable.
