Distributor Cap: Service and Repair

Distributor Cap:

REMOVAL
1. Remove splash shield and distributor cap mounting screws.
2. Move cap to side, (leave plug wires attached), and remove rotor.

Rotor Inspection:

3. Inspect cap and rotor for wear, carbon deposits or cracks, and replace if needed.

Spark Plug Cable Removal:

INSTALLATION

CAUTION: To avoid pinching wires, make sure pick-up wiring is routed correctly.

1. Install new rotor and cap.
2. Release one plug wire at a time from inside old cap and install on correct tower of new cap. (Make sure all plug wires are seated securely.)
3. Install splash shield.
