Shift Interlock: Service and Repair

1. Remove fuse panel cover from left end of instrument panel, then remove screw holding instrument panel top cover.
2. Remove center bezel, then remove screw holding instrument panel top cover to center of instrument panel.
3. Pull instrument panel top cover up enough to gain access to knee bolster screws.
4. Remove knee bolster screws and knee bolster.
5. Remove screws from lower steering column shroud, then pull lower shroud to clear ignition cylinder.
6. Hold tilt wheel lever down, then slide lower shroud forward and remove.
7. Tilt wheel to full down position and remove upper steering column shroud.
8. Place ignition in on position, then remove interlock cable from interlock housing.
9. Remove interlock assembly to steering column mounting screws, then remove interlock assembly.
10. Reverse procedure to install. Torque interlock assembly mounting screws to 21 inch lbs.
