Belt Tightening/Tension


Fig. 3 Belt Tension Inspection:




1. Install a suitable belt tension gauge in the middle of belt span.
2. Correct belt tension is 93-114 lbs.
3. Adjust belt tension as follows:
a. Loosen tension pulley nut.
b. Adjust tension using adjusting bolt.
c. Adjust new belt to 137-158 lbs. and used belt to 93-114 lbs. [01]
4. Tighten pulley nut.



[01] -- A belt which has been installed and run for 15 minutes is considered "used".
