Radiator Hose: Service and Repair
REMOVAL
1. Drain cooling system.
2. Remove the battery.
3. Follow removal steps outlined in the illustration, noting the following.
4. After making mating marks on the radiator hose and the hose clamp, disconnect the radiator hose.
INSTALLATION
1. Follow removal procedure in reverse order, noting the following.
CAUTION: Do not allow engine oil or other grease to adhere to the O-ring.
2. Insert the O-ring to the pipe assembly, and coat the outer circumference of the O-ring with water or engine coolant.
3. Insert each hose as far as the projection of the water outlet fitting or water inlet fitting.
4. Align the mating marks on the radiator hose and water outlet fitting or water inlet fitting.
5. Set the No. 1 cylinder at compression top dead center.
6. Align the mating mark on the distributor housing and the coupling. Install the distributor.
7. Install the distributor to the cylinder head.
8. Refill the cooling system.
