Checking Clearances

Checking Connecting Rod Bearing Clearance:

1. Follow the procedures outlined for Measuring Main Bearing and Connecting Rod Bearing Clearances.
2. Tighten nuts to 51 Nm (37 ft. lbs.).
3. Remove connecting rod cap and measure Plastigage.

CAUTION: Do not rotate crankshaft or the Plastigage may be smeared.
