Horizontal Sensor Out of Range High

NAME OF CODE
Horizontal Sensor Out of Range High

WHEN MONITORED
Ignition on.

SET CONDITION
Immediately set.

THEORY OF OPERATION
The seat motors have potentiometers/ sensors attached to them. When the seat moves a potentiometer value changes. The potentiometers are designed to operate within a window of values. Any values outside of the normal will cause a code to be set. Therefore, when the seat sensor feed back to the MHSMM is greater than the seat sensor out of range high value stored in EEPROM, a code will be set.

PROBABLE CAUSE
- Seat motor failure (value)
- Seat horizontal position signal ckt shorted to battery
- MHSMM failure
