Leak Detection Pump: Service and Repair

The leak detection pump is located under the right front headlamp behind the front fascia.

REMOVAL
1. Disconnect the negative cable from auxiliary jumper terminal.
2. Raise vehicle on hoist and support.
3. Remove right front wheel.
4. Reposition the wheel well splash shield, passenger side.
5. Loosen the front fascia on the passenger side, remove about half of the retainers.
6. Remove washer bottle from vehicle.
7. Remove vacuum lines and hoses from LDP and EVAP canister.
8. Remove electrical connector from the LDP.
9. Remove bracket with LDP and EVAP canister as an assembly.

10. Remove LDP from bracket.

INSTALLATION
1. Install LDP to bracket and tighten the bolts.
2. Connect electrical connector to LDP.
3. Install hoses and vacuum lines to EVAP canister and LDP.
4. Install EVAP canister and LDP to vehicle.
5. Install washer bottle.
6. Install wheel well splash shield.
7. Install front fascia.
8. Install wheel.
9. Lower vehicle.
10. Use DRB or equivalent scan tool to test LDP and system.
