THIS BULLETIN SUPERSEDES TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN 22-02-98, DATED APR. 1998, WHICH SHOULD BE REMOVED FROM YOUR FILES AND NOTED IN THE 1996 SERVICE BULLETIN MANUAL (PUBLICATION NO. 81-699-99003). THE REVISION IS HIGHLIGHTED WITH **ASTERISKS** AND ADDS 1999 MODEL YEAR VEHICLES.

SUBJECT:
Low Speed Tire Wobble

OVERVIEW:
This bulletin involves contacting Michelin for tire replacement

MODELS:
1996 - **1999** (NS) Town & Country/Caravan/Voyager

NOTE:
THIS BULLETIN APPLIES TO VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT 215/65R16 (TM5) MICHELIN TIRES.

SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
The vehicle operator may complain of side to side oscillation/wobble felt in the steering wheel between 10-45 mph (15-75 kph). This condition may also be felt at times in the driver and/or passenger seats. If the vehicle operator complaint is a vibration that occurs at only 60+ mph (95+ kph), the condition is not tire wobble and this bulletin does not apply.

DIAGNOSIS:
Visually inspect the tire/wheel assemblies for any abnormal conditions such as mismatched tire/wheel assemblies, low tire pressure, bent or damaged wheels, or foreign material (mud) packed on the backside of the wheel. Test drive the vehicle on a smooth road surface to confirm the above described wobble condition. If the wobble condition is experienced, complete the Repair Procedure.

REPAIR PROCEDURE:
After verification of the wobble condition Chrysler Corporation Dealers are to call Michelin Consumer Relations at 800-887-0662 (in Canada call 888-551-8473 or for Quebec call 888-551-7638) for authorization of tire replacement by your local Michelin dealer. In support of this TSB Michelin will authorize replacement at no charge if the tires are worn no more than 2/32 in. or on a pro-rated basis if worn beyond 2/32 in. Mounting and balancing will be provided at no charge.

If necessary, Michelin Consumer Relations will assist in coordinating this arrangement with a local Michelin dealer.
