Service Procedure

1. Raise the vehicle on an appropriate hoist.

2. Place a transmission jack under the fuel tank and support the fuel tank.

3. Remove the right tank strap mounting bolts and remove the right tank strap.

4. Install a new right tank strap. Install the front bolt first and then install the rear bolt. Tighten the strap mounting bolts to 250 in-lbs (28 Nm).

5. Remove the left tank strap mounting bolts and remove the left tank strap.

6. Install a new left tank strap. Install the front bolt first and then install the rear bolt. Tighten the strap mounting bolts to 250 in-lbs (28 Nm).

7. Remove the transmission jack.

8. Lower the vehicle.
