Yaw Rate Sensor: Description and Operation

YAW RATE SENSOR

DESCRIPTION
The yaw rate sensor is located under the the center console behind the gear shifter assembly. This sensor is used to detect the swerving motion of the vehicle.

OPERATION
The yaw rate sensor is used to measure the yaw rate of the vehicle. When the vehicle turns, acceleration forces are produced which cause torsion. This torsion change within the sensor is proportional of the yaw rate of the vehicle.
