Timing Component Alignment Marks: Description and Operation
ENGINE TIMING OPERATION The crankshaft driven timing chain maintains camshaft (6) and balance shaft (3) operation and timing. Timing marks on the crankshaft (2), balance shaft (3) and camshafts (5) are aligned with copper links (1) in the timing chain to keep symmetrical valve and ignition performance.
